If you are new in hosting your own website, you want to get as much (returning) visitors to your website. In every book or every website you visit in how to get more people to your website you will read the following in the first chapter: write new and innovative pieces of information. Right, understood! But while writing this blog there are over 1,06 trillion websites… Current number of websites in the world.
So how can you get more visitors to your website with unique information when there are already over a trillion websites?
Promoting your website!
So there you are, you have written a few blogs on your website and you are wondering why nobody is going to your website. You have chosen a good website name and wrote interesting content. How to speed things up to get more visitors then? Well, you have to put yourself out there, seek the spotlights. Let the world know that you are there. Obviously it’s easier said then done. You have to visit other blogs and leave comments, go to different forums and mingle with the people. Talk about other people online about the topic that you write about on your blog. Once they are curious, just drop them a link to your website and ask them what they think about it.
Go with the trend
Because I am rather new to this myself as well – but getting more and more experience, I wanted to do an experiment. In the beginning of July the new game Pokémon Go was launched. As I am a fan myself I found it interesting to write something small about it. Why? I wanted to see if I could get more visitors to my website because of a trending topic. Now, to be honest.. my visitors on a monthly base are not worth mentioning but I took a screen shot of the amount of people that visited my website in the latests weeks! I wrote on a forum where I left an interesting “signature text” under my profile name which was seen on every post I made. Here are the results:
P.s. it is in Dutch but when I say that “Bezoekers” means “Visitors” you will get the picture.
